Preparing for an Ijazah program is less about rushing and more about strengthening the skills that a qualified teacher will assess. A clear preparation phase can make the formal Ijazah journey smoother and more effective.

Strengthen reading accuracy first

You should be able to read directly from the Mushaf with stable pronunciation and relatively few recurring errors. If reading remains hesitant, a correction stage may be more useful before beginning Ijazah.

Review Tajweed application

Knowing Tajweed rules theoretically is not enough. The important question is whether you can apply them consistently while reading connected verses.

Work on recurring pronunciation issues

Makharij and letter characteristics should be reviewed carefully. Small repeated errors are easier to correct before they become part of a longer recitation routine.

Build stamina for longer recitation

Ijazah study often involves sustained reading. Practise longer passages while maintaining accuracy, rather than focusing only on short selections.

For Hifz, strengthen long-term revision

If your route includes memorization, older portions should be stable. A balanced review system is essential before adding the pressure of formal authorization.

Begin with an assessment

A qualified teacher can identify whether you are ready to start, what needs correction first, and which Ijazah route best matches your goals.

Muruj’s Ijazah program offers one-to-one assessment and guidance for students preparing for recitation or memorization authorization.
