Arabic Letter Foundations for Kids & Adults
Start reading Arabic from the very beginning with a patient, one-to-one teacher. Learn to recognise letters, hear their sounds and pronounce them before moving into vowels and words.

Never learned Arabic letters? Begin here.
This path is for a student who cannot yet identify Arabic letters consistently, confuses similar shapes or needs help producing their sounds. Children and adults begin at their actual level after a free assessment.
Your teacher shows a letter, models its sound and gives you time to recognise and say it. You practise with fresh examples, so progress means more than memorising the order of an alphabet chart.

What you will learn
The order and pace adapt to your assessment. We revisit difficult sounds before adding new ones.
Letter shapes
Recognise Arabic letters and distinguish letters with similar forms and different dots.
Names and sounds
Listen to your teacher, hear the letter sound clearly and repeat it with individual correction.
Letter positions
Identify how a letter looks on its own and when it appears at the beginning, middle or end of a word.
Difficult sounds
Practise sounds that are unfamiliar to you and distinguish easily confused letters in listening and reading.
Reading readiness
Recognise letters in new examples without relying only on a memorised sequence or transliteration.
The next step
When ready, begin short vowels and joining letters in the next stage of your Quran reading plan.
The teacher may use Noor Al-Bayan or Noorani Qaida when it suits the student. The method is chosen after assessment, rather than requiring every student to use the same book.
Listen, say, recognise, repeat
In each live lesson, your teacher reviews earlier letters, introduces a manageable new skill and corrects pronunciation as you practise. You see the letter in more than one form and try identifying it in unfamiliar examples.
- Individual attention and time to ask questions
- Patient correction of letter sounds
- Practice matched to a child or adult learner
- A clear skill to review before the next class

What can you work toward?
With regular classes and practice, your teacher checks whether you can use each skill in new examples.
